Overview

Built an ECG signal-conditioning circuit to amplify millivolt-level heart signals while reducing DC offset and high-frequency noise.

What I Built

Technical Details

The ECG circuit amplified small biological signals from electrodes and filtered unwanted DC offset and noise. The circuit used instrumentation amplification and active filtering before digitization.

My Role

Daniel built, tested, and debugged the analog circuit stages and validated signal behavior using AD2 tools.

Challenges and Debugging

  • Working with millivolt-level signals
  • Avoiding clipping and DC offset issues
  • Filtering noise while preserving useful signal content
  • Debugging analog stages before digitization

Results

  • Built functioning ECG signal-conditioning path
  • Tested analog stages using waveform generation and oscilloscope tools
  • Digitized conditioned signal through Arduino
